Oh yeah, pets are a wonderful way to get to know the neighbors. (Wild pets included, lol.) When we first moved here, we'd load Ava up in the stroller and take the two dogs and walk about a mile out the road and back. Although people enjoyed seeing the baby, most were more interested in petting the dogs!

Our neighbors are good people. The one usually keep to themselves but they came over said hello and have helped push out our car when it slid into the snowbank from the plow.

The other owns a landscaping business and are quite friendly. We went on the garden tour that featured their home and spent quite a while talking. Made some suggestions and offered some perennials that they had divided. Good people for sure.

Another has a mess of kids so my oldest spends time with them. They ride the bus together so that helps too.

The last ones are exceptionally nice. He cut grass when we first moved in because the new riding mower from Sears hadn't arrived yet. They also came over with food & some cute baby clothes when our 2nd child was born. We'd only lived there 6 days when she was born too.

Everybody tries to help when someone has a job that needs to be done. All in all it's a good group of people.

Maybe it's like how it is with cats...they just sort of decide they claim you?

I dunno there's a lot worse things than moose. You could have squirrels with an endless supply of energy drinks.

Or very nervous skunks with a "shoot first and ask questions later" outlook on life.

Moose are certainly better than kamikaze turkey vultures too.

It's all about perspective
