I can relate ,but in a different way. Nothing to do with drinks either.

Just found out a few day ago that my dad really shouldn't be eating anything in the nigthshade family due to health complications. So instead of putting just him on a special diet we are all going on that diet. This doesn't just mean no potatoes, peppers, tomatoes, etc and anything made with them. It also means no more of those dehydrated Cape Gooseberries that I love so much. Good thing for my wallet maybe, but I'd rather keeping them around.

@TheSeedObsesser , does your dad have an immune-dysfunction disorder? Or leaky gut? Lots of natural nutritionists are recommending that you go off nightshades if you have a disorder like this. I just can't bring myself to do that.
On second thought, your dad may not appreciate his health being discussed in a forum, so you don't have to answer that. Just sayin'....

He isn't going to see it, and if he did, I don't think he would care. Both parents have leaky gut, probably some unidentified problems to. There is a good chance that my sister and I could have it.

Its a condition in which your intestines have minute holes in them, and food/nutrients leak out into areas it shouldn't. supposedly it prevents you from getting the nourishment you need, and causes all sorts of issues, from headaches to depression. You can look up GAPS diet, which stands for Gut and Psychology Syndrome, I think. Lots of people swear by this diet, even as a "cure" for autism. Again, the concept is so huge, I can't wrap my brain around it.
