I wasn't going to say anything but the kids have some Jack Be Littles
growing. But not just one, so I think your status is safe Bee.
It's not easy to grow just one pumpkin you know.
I didn't say just one pumpkin...I said one decent one. I have a few small ones out there still growing and I can tell they won't get any bigger...which is why this one is such an anomaly. My garden was a pretty bad garden this year in almost all ways...then along comes this one big pumpkin and a person has got to laugh.
The rest of them would fill a dinner plate...but for a Rouge Vif D'Etampes, that's not very large. I've got one that is normal sized for that kind of pumpkin, weighing in at exactly 35#.
If it helps, I DID just produce one single cantaloupe....out of all the seeds I planted of that, I got one vine to produce one small fruit. Mom says it tasted good...not the best she's ever had, nor the worst.
Planted numerous watermelon seeds, got many plants/vines which now all seem to be dying....but got a few small watermelons out there. I doubt they will get big enough before the vines die, but they did produce more than one. That's about all I can say about that.
