This is one of our sweet banana pepper plants, how do you know when they are ready to pick?

They look ready. When you gentle squeeze them are they feeling firm? You can always pick one to check. Looks like a good crop!

I've been picking mine for months, they get ready quick. Yours sure are screaming pick me, and pickle me!!! LOL

One nice thing about peppers is you don't have to wait for them to ripen. You can pick them any time they're big enough to be used right up to when they are full grown.

With my hot yellow banana peppers I pick them when there is only a hint of green coloring left if the plant looks like it's struggling to stand upright from so many peppers at once, when there is no trace of green color if I'm being impatient, or otherwise leave them till the first hint of an orange blush appears... but I seem to like peppers riper than some people, I even leave jalapenos till they're blushing some red.
