Woke up to local news that a fugitive the cops were chasing, stole a car and got away. Cops caught up to him, he bailed and ran. While they were searching for him, he circled back, stole a cruiser and took off again! They chased him to a road a few miles from us, he ditched the car and ran into the woods. Great. Just great.

I had things to do outside this morning, but instead was a good citizen and stayed inside. We didn't do much today. Later, he stole a truck and went back to Tyler. He ditched that truck and disappeared. But of course we didn't know that until the 6:00 news. &%*#%

Spent money today. I had this feeling up my back about our septic system. When we bought the place, HUD wouldn't let us turn on water to test septic. The past few days, I suddenly decided we needed to get the tank pumped. DH agreed so the men came out this morning. They said both 500 gallon tanks were full and we were probably going to have a backed up system in another week. Whew! Crisis averted! Cost? $535!

DH's truck wouldn't start. Wouldn't make a sound. Battery wasn't dead, but the truck sure was. Called a wrecker. Picked truck up this afternoon. A dog chewed the wires! Hmmm..... it could only be Trip. At 10 months old, he is in that brains-have-left-him stage. He laid under the truck where it was cooler and entertained himself with those satisfying chewy wires. Cost? $516!!!!! $%&$*!

We've had better days...

quite a lot of drama you have going on today!

i'm surprised HUD wasn't required to pump the tank before you got the property. when i was looking at houses years ago, one house i looked at seemed nice but had a really huge bathroom about the size of master bedroom. there seemed to be a rank odor that i couldn't quite place till we got to the basement. at the bottom of the stairs was the furnace, which seemed to be leaking oil. i thought that was it but there still seemed to be an odor as we were looking at the rest of the basement/garage/workshop area. i got all the way to the last part of the garage and noticed there was a large brownish mess on the floor. then it dawned on me. while walking around the outside by that garage in the yard the ground seemed squishy. the septic tank was backing up into that garage. :sick

Think Texas is a bad place to be a criminal, everyone has guns and not afraid to use him. Bay your real lucky, I had to put in whole new septic system, bank account went down big time. I am having a hell of a time with my golden puppies and chewing, I nick named them the beavers. Bitter apple works with them for about half hour. I found only way to deal, is keep very large supply of raw hides on hand.

@Nyboy it was wires under the truck. Trip likes to lay under the truck or flatbed trailer where it's cooler. Squirrels and rats usually chew wires more up in the engine. (Had that happen before too)

Puppies love to chew don't they? Haha get yours some of those big cow leg bones. Miniature cows from Craigslist would make the puppies a tasty treat!
