Many years ago I had success with growing artichokes. Then for many more I had no luck. Bad seed germination, plants keeling over, no harvest.....This year I decided to try them again. I have big lush plants growing and just ate my first choke for dinner. Mid July-unheard of.I know you warm weather gardeners probably grow them like weeds and get sick of them. So for some reason I have success again. I will grow them as an annual. I feel lucky. So yummy compared to store bought.

Cat, how big are the plants? For instance, how many plants would fit in a 4' x 4' raised bed?

I had an artichoke plant once. . .

DH dug it out (pot and all) thinking it was a weed. Since I had already told him it was something I had planted, I have to presume DH was not a good listener.
