Ours are harvested when they are 6-8 inches. The ones that are allowed to grow reach about 5 1/2 feet.

@Smart Red once sent me a jar of pickled asparagus it was so good pickling might be the way to go when they get to large.

even being 14 years old we got a decent picking, since monday we picked 2 lbs of them..... yum
