I'm okay that way. Okay with the insulin, okay with the cholesterol. At least, I have been. I'm supposed to go into routine tests. I'll find out but neither of those health issues have been a concern. I'd really like to keep it that way. Too much of a basket-case as is ...
I was really impressed with some diabetic cookbooks at one time. Should be careful what I say because I don't have diabetes. Mom was "pre-diabetic" in her 80's, if I've got the right term. Don't recall that it made any difference in her lifestyle. My son doesn't have diabetes but I was so impressed with the recipes in those cookbooks (so easy, so simple, healthy food), I gave them to him as a gift.
I seriously doubt that it changed his food prep one tiny bit. It may have changed his shopping habits. I can't say that DS actually cooks. He outsources the entire diet! But, I'm a gardener and he isn't. I'm forced to cook or eat everything from the garden raw ..! I will say this about DS, he's quite willing to eat things raw. But, I don't know ... about.com says that there are 148 calories in ranch dressing (2 tablespoons) and a toss salad only has 22cal/cup. The calories in the dressing is about the same as is in 4 ounces of chicken.
He tries to burn the calories at the gym and that seems to be working for DS. It takes too much exercise for me to burn a calorie. I have to be more strongly motivated. But, I'm always motivated to eat!
Epsom salts with the additions didn't protect the skin from beginning to suffer, just from winter. I can't even blame dish washing since I drag my feet (& myself outta the lazyboy) so slowly that DW usually has them clean first.
I put on my big boy pants and went for a 30min walk, yesterday. Dang! I gotta get tuff! And, start wearing my pajamas under the levi's!
I was out nearly 90min the day previous and it wasn't that y'day was so cold but the 23°f windchill about had me turning back before I had completed half of an Outdoor Mile ...
I had my heaviest jacket on over a fleece vest, denim cap and a scarf, gloves over my digitS'. We better get snow & ice conditions so I have an excuse for not leaving the house, or I gotta get tuff!
Yeah, I'll need to buy some more oatmeal for the bath. Probably have to go back to the steroid cream.
The salts are pleasant. Ya know, just a foot bath on a regular basis is nice. Needed for trimming the hoofs but more than that, a very clean, comfortable feeling .
I would also appreciate it if the eucalyptus would help the sinuses. Humidity was only just below 50% on the walk. Shoot. Imma gonna be a rambling wreck when it's below 20% and in the single
