It takes all kinds to fill up the world, these folks are probably mild compared to those who are really uptight lol. It could always be worse, still they could have been more friendly.
Steve,I knew you were an outlaw lol. If we make it through or youthful shortcomings, we usually turn out ok.

This reminds me of a funny thing I went and did a few weeks ago. I'm on a mission to explore and photograph all the castles in Ireland, starting here in Co Tipperary, so off we went on the day, looking for a privately owned, occupied one not very far from where I live. Getting in was easy enough (we left the car and just walked in). Spotted a man sitting in a truck at the stables, so I approached him and asked if it would be possible to speak to the owner of the property? (Whenever possible, I ask the owners' permission to take photos). The man looked alarmed and said something about the owners being "very protective" of the castle. I said that's fine so, I just want a pic of it. Can I speak to the owner? If anything, he looked even more worried. I eventually got the estate manager's cell number off him and called her. Got no further with her and left empty handed.

So I got to the next castle and spoke to the man living in the adjacent cottage. He was lovely and did not mind talking to me and letting me take pics. On hearing about my lack of luck at the previous castle he burst out laughing and told me I calmly walked onto the property of and asked to speak to the composer Andrew Lloyd Webber :thI'll bet that doesn't happen to him every day...

Anyway, the neighbour of the second castle then sneakily sent me off to my next castle, where I did manage to meet the owner. I chatted up the man making and fitting stained glass windows for their castle and he took me inside and introduced me…. to a quite famous artist. (Who I won't name here as I have a loose arrangement in place with them to go back for a proper prearranged visit and opportunity to photograph their place) I'm starting to rethink my usual attire of jeans and muddy boots from climbing around ruins…

that is indeed quite funny. :) too bad that at first the person you spoke to didn't know that you didn't know...
