We get these rains like this, not often thank goodness.

Grand total for me is 10” of rain. Water here drains into creeks, which drain into the Trinity River, which goes to Lake Livingston. Its gates are open at the dam and it is flooding down river.

oh! thanks for the update on geography, i could go and see. Trinity River flows to Trinity Bay... love it when they keep it simple like that! :) yes, when you see a lot of loops and curves in a river you know it is lowland, flat and going to flood during heavy rain events.

we would have flash flooding too if that much rain landed that quick.

The Trinity River has some large alligator gar. It’s estimated that the 6’ and longer are a hundred years old. They are up river as well as down river from the Lake Livingston dam. I lived near the Trinity Bay when I was younger and fished a lot. Went up river from the bay to fish. Saw what I thought was a submerged log one time, it was an alligator gar.

My sister lives in Conroe near the west fork of the San Jacinto River. She is downstream from Lake Conroe. She was gone overnight and the water came up.

Inside, her 2 dogs and several inches of water in the house.

She and a friend went to the fire station where they knew someone about rescuing her dogs. She wanted to go home but was told no. The fireman called in a rescue team and they went to her house by boat and got her dogs out. She and dogs are staying with friends.

This is being repeated all over southeast Texas.

Thank goodness those dogs are safe. I hope her home can be easily cleared up.

It's crazy weather worldwide. What on this earth is happening 😳
