This is great stuff. I had it under the tin roof on the sheep barn in Lindale. Hot, horrible heat, hot and more hot, but not in their barn! It was 10-15 degrees cooler.

The afternoon sun hits the back of my double wide and it heats this place up. I’m excited to get this put under the metal! Whoop!

Whew! Neighbor Chase came over this morning and we rolled out radiant heat barrier and screwed 2x4 lath down. We finished rolling out that span of heat barrier, tacked it down and covered everything with the tarps. Called it a day. We cooled off inside and drank lots of water. I’ll finish the lath on this side in the morning.

I go get metal tomorrow afternoon and this side will be ready on Saturday!

I’m off the roof for the day. I got to the top with the radiant heat barrier and 2x4 lath. Covered it up with tarps. Ready for tomorrow.

Got a glass of ice water, cooling off. Then will hitch flatbed, go take a shower and eat lunch. Then go get the metal.

I will be sure to install that in any new house we get! We keep looking at houses, but in reality we'll probably wait until Rocco passes on. The vet gave him no more than 2 years, and we don't want to stress him to death with a move. If the perfect house comes along, I told my husband he can drive like a stampeding rhinocerous towards his goal, the rest of us will drive like normal people and stay in hotels. >_>

that picture is exactly how i feel at the moment. definitely nap time as this morning i feel like i'm walking around dragging my butt in the dirt.

The back side of the roof has R Panel metal on it! 2 guys laid it out, got it straight and got ‘er done. For once, I stayed out of the way. They both admired the prep work I had done, but there really wasn’t much I could do to help them. One has a few American Blackbelly sheep and was very interested in mine. So we talked sheep and walked through the flock.

Two more pieces to go.

Done with this side.

Next Saturday will get it finished up. I’ll be prepping the other side. Got to get more 2x4s and another 5 pound box of 3” deck screws. One more week of roofing!

Yesterday evening my daughter and granddaughters came in. They are making a quick round, here for the night, tomorrow evening leaving for Lindale to see friends, then to my sister’s house, then home. Meet the teacher is Thursday, so they have to get back for that.

Had a nice day today. Went to church with DD and the girls. Then we went to Red Lobster for Snow Crab. It was delicious and we enjoyed each other and the food. Then home to my house, naps, pack the van and they just left.

Bay, your hair is so charming!

Thank you! I started turning gray at 12 years old. By 36, I was white headed. I colored my hair for many years to hide the gray, finally gave it up when in my early 50’s and let it grow out.

I got 2 roll outs of radiant heat barrier on the roof and 4 rows of 2x4s I’m hot, soaking wet, hot, but not tired, just hot. Time to quit.
