Very pretty coloring on those hogs, Bay! I've always loved looking at that breed. If you buy from her for breeding purposes in the future, I'd watch those back legs close...looks like both are a little cow hocked.
It could be that they are just standing that way, but one appears to be cow-hocked and the other post- legged.

Nice looking pigs neat color. Trying to cut them after they start growing is a chore. My brother and I castrated about 100 pound pig once and it was a war. We should have just let it be because we butched it at 7 months old it never bred anything. I learned that it near impossible to get a hog in a headlock.

in the old days for fun didn't they have greased pig capturing contests? :)

i wonder if poodle is actually puddle? :)

LOVE THEM!!! Marked like the cow breed! Wonder if Hereford refers to the color pattern????

According to a John Wayne movie I saw once, lol, it's a reference to Herefordshire in England where the cattle breed may have originated. Although some experts say no one knows exactly where, but somewhere in Britain for sure.

I just read that the pigs were developed in Iowa and named after the cows. :)

Yup, Hereford hogs are named after Hereford cattle. I have no idea how they were able to get that color on a hog, but I like it.

@flowerbug not puddle, we have a very articulate 3 year old with a lot of attitude. It's definitely Poodle. :gig where that came from and why she wanted to name the pig Poodle, I have no idea. But this kid likes pigs. She'll tell me she wants to see the pigs and I tell her that we sent them to slaughter and now they are bacon. "I like bacon!" Then I have to get up and make her bacon. LOL Now she has new pigs to go see.
