No garden this year. Got too much going on this year. Maybe next year.

Definitely understandable as life happens. They sure don't keep up themselves. So not so much as a tomato plant in the flowerbed either?

We've missed you guys around here. Glad you stopped by for a "visit". :)

If you are like most of us, there is probably enough in jars and in the freezer to keep you until next year! Just take good care of yourself until your surgery.

:hit:barnie Nope we are running out of everything!!!! The only thing we have plenty of is jelly and sweet pickles.

I regret to admit that my veggie garden is woe-some this year. It might as well be non-existant. Potatoes that need harvesting, sweet spud experiment that doesn't seem to be going anywhere fast. The only sure things are the garlic planted last fall and the onions from purchased sets this spring.

Those and plenty of tomatoes. Most of the ones I started, I also killed off the morning after our last frost, but there were plenty of volunteers in the beds that I transplanted. All mine are open pollinated varieties, so they should be good tomatoes and each one a total surprise.

Do they have many U-picks up your way, Dew? I didn't put in very many tomatoes this year, so I'll probably cross the river and go buy some here in a week or two. You probably don't have much time to commit to canning right now either though, I figure.

How are your chickens doing? Do you still have the same girls?

I do not know of any U pick places around here. The problem isnt the time actually, it's the ability. I'm not able to do a lot of things right now.
Chickens are all gone for now. I wish I still had my first set of chickens. I miss them all so much. They started eating their own eggs, and could not break them. It was costing too much to keep them around because of that. We got another set, but ended up with 9 roos and 2 hens, I have no use for all those roos, so I gave all of them away too. I guess we will order from the hatchery in the spring and try one more time. If it doesnt work out this time I'm giving up.

I'm so sorry, dew. Hopefully, once you're feeling yourself, you will find keeping a few chickens enjoyable again. I couldn't take proper care of mine without a lot of adaptions and strong helpers with the feed.
