Deeply Rooted
I'm planting 32 peppers of various varieties this year. Last year I had mine out in early May with 40ish at night and 50-60ish during the day. They did fine and lasted until we had a heavy frost. I'm still eating peppers out of the freezer.
New recipe for "freezer" peppers
Hamburger "Geiso"
1 pound hamburger meat
1 medium onion sliced up
2 cloves garlic minced
1 pint canned tomatoes
1 hand full sweet peppers
hot peppers to taste or omit
Fry hamburger meat like you would for tacos with the onion. When the hamburger/onion is done, add the garlic and fry for a few minutes, but don't burn the garlic.
When the hamburger is done, drain the fat and add 1 pint of homemade canned tomatoes and lots of frozen pepper strips. Let tomatoes boil until slight thickened. Salt and pepper to taste and serve over rice. Yummy.
We tried this with fish last night (instead of hamburger), it was absolutely delicious. This year I'm growing more peppers.
