I gathered some blackberry shoots this afternoon and cooked them up on the side with spaghetti tonight! Tasted like broccoli with a floral hint!

That sounds really good! What is your tea recipe? Can you make it with blackberry, thimbleberry, salmon berry, or any berry leaves!?
Wow!

Well, why not!

I've had raspberry leaf tea. It tastes like raspberries. It never occurred to me to nibble on the shoots.

Oh, Dahlia, I never tried.

It was not unpleasant at all, just not my cup of tea.

I have always been reluctant to add sugar to tea or coffee. There is nothing wrong with sweet, hot drinks - it is because I think of sugar as a nothing food. However, I have discovered dried cranberries as an ingredient. The sweetness would have likely enhanced my use of the raspberry leaves.

Has my Aunt come back from heaven? She is the only one I've ever known to steam blackberry shoots. She's also the one who got me hooked on poke salad. Wow that was decades ago

Jesus is Lord and Christ 🙏❤️🇺🇸
