I have for everbearing Fort Laramie, Ozark Beauty, Quinault, Junebearing Honeoye, Sparkle, Earliglow, Winona Giant, Jewel, about every strawberry that Gurney and Henry Fields sells, I have tried all of them over the years, and a few I do not remember the names. The trouble is I never keep track of all of them. They are all mixed up now. The Sparkle you can see they are different and they seem to taste good, but the Winona Giant were better than most strawberries I have grown. The Fort Laramie I just started growing a couple of years ago and I did not think they taste as good as Winona Giant, but better than some others. I am wondering if the June do taste better or is it then each one has a different taste. There were some strawberries that just tasted sour. My neighbor noticed it too. I do have an unknown strawberry in the yard that came with my raspberry plants. They are smaller than my other strawberries and they are very, very sweet. I transplanted them out of the raspberries, so I am not sure if they made it. I was hoping for an answer to this question because I am going to be buying strawberry plants again. I keep transplanting and moving, and losing them to weeds. I like having both June and everbearing.

NyBoy,

Google Maps says you are 3,007 miles from Quinault in Washington State.

Those strawberry genetics came all the way across the US. Hope you'll like them.

Does anyone's ever bearers bear more than once? Mine act like a smaller June bearer.

I maybe wrong but getting impression smaller the berry better the taste.

That may be correct, but I suspect some of the differences in sweetness is due to where they are grown as well as the amount of sunshine, rainfall, and warmth when the berries develop.

I love my Alpine strawberries! Very small, very sweet, and very ever-bearing, (I can pick them from early May through fall frost) but useful mostly as a few scattered over my morning cereal. I have several kinds of June bearers and a couple of ever-bearing types. I could check what they are, but they have mixed for several years and I just take what I can get and appreciate that. None of mine are huge berries (at least in my garden) and I think they are all delicious -- far better than what's in the store.

Both the strawberries and the tomatoes seemed "watery" for lack of a better word, last year. Is it as simple as a wet season makes watery fruit, or is it something more complex? Oh, I didn't mean to stray too far off topic, sorry!

Yes, solucky- I believe too much rain makes them watery. Of course, they don't do well with no water either. Always waiting for mother nature to try that happy medium!
