Best way to save garlic

Garlic is a great keeper. After you harvest it, you should leave the greens on top and let them cure like that for a few weeks. When the greens are dried, you can cut them off- and continue the curing process for a couple of more weeks. Then, wipe the "paper" off the garlic, until you get a clean covering. These should keep for most of the winter, if you have a cool, dark and well ventilated spot for them. Of course, you may eat the garlic at anytime in this process...If you are going to plant garlic this fall- choose some nice cloves from your harvest to plant for next year! Happy Gardening!
