I may have to do that. I would like to have one with a little spout, but I guess I can't be too particular.

You could try drilling several small holes in the cap. Have you tried the rose from a regular watering can? I suppose you wouldn't be using a milkjug if you had a watering can though...:/

oh, oops, I didn't see the rest of the posts! Looks like I'm almost as smart as Ridge!

I finally broke down and bought a "poison" sprayer from Harbor Freight. You can set it on a light mist and it is very easy to use. Obviously, I put water in it and not chemicals...

I've been trying to come up with a homemade version of what Steve showed and came up blank. I have made a shaker for powder (BT by the way) by taking a plastic peanut butter jar and drilling 1/16" holes in the plastic lid. I shy away from glass because I'm clumsy and drop things.

Take a 1/16" drill and a milk jug cap. Drill several holes.

Ha, reminds of the homemade supersoakers I used to make for the kids, only one hole. I used 24oz soda bottles, about a 1/4" hole. Squeeze and it can shoot about 15 feet! I made the hole with a pocket knife, but caution, this could go horribly wrong.
I guess you could use them for watering plants too, you can really control where the water goes and avoid getting the foliage wet.
