Thistle, could that be another crossbill at the other feeder? Maybe a female? It has a large bill for a goldfinch, I think.

That's what I was wondering after looking at crossbill images online.
I'll need to look at some of my field guides, but I think you may be right.

Got some nice shots of a Pileated Woodpecker today, and we also saw a Three-Toed Woodpecker while we were out cross country skiing today!

Great photos. I also have never seen the 3 toed. But have on several occasions seen a pileated. Once a bit too close up, DH hit with truck!
