Thank you everyone! It was a great day, DD & her family took me out for dinner last night - then to a bakery for gourmet muffins. They know my weakness. 
This year, a good friend (who had commitments on my birthday) invited me to celebrate a combination New Years Eve / birthday party with them. What a great idea!!! Why, oh why didn't I think of that years ago???
Had so much fun I briefly forgot how old I am. Thankfully, that gets easier every year.
