Texas, great place to visit, just not to live. Why you get so many snow birds in winter... loved to visit, loved fresh shrimp.

True story, Mom used a yard stick. It broke and I started laughing. Mom never said a word. Dad asked one question, then I got his belt-& no, it didn't break!!!!!

@Nyboy the concept of running away from Mom never entered into my thought process. That meant you ran into Dad who used a belt. He was strong as bull. Not a good combination on my butt.

Mama and Daddy would make us go in the yard and cut a switch. I used wooden spoons for the Wildbunch. They were real handy for carrying in your purse.
