Garden Ornament
Cool project vfem! Best of luck with it.
It's interesting to see what everyone else is up to in January.
Here in southwest MI (zone 5) in January........the only gardening I'm doing is in my imagination! lol Unless watering houseplants counts?
It's cold here in January (with cold snaps dipping down below 0 degrees) and the plants are usually under 1 to 2 feet of snow. Like digitS said...LOTS of shoveling to be done!
For me, it's a time to pour over seed catalogs, shop for seed, and plan for the upcoming season. It's also a good time for snowmobiling, skiing, snowshoeing, and ice fishing!
Other random info for our area that might help you vfem:
-Here it is recommended that most fruit trees and grape vines be pruned in Feb, March, or April.
-This past spring while working at a local greenhouse, we didn't start sowing seed till the beginning of March.
-I don't like to put annuals out until mid-May here....usually frosts are over around then, but we've had frosts some years in late May. :/
