I cant imagine 38* in the middle of August...It has cooled down here a bit lower than usual but not that close to frost yet...another couple of weeks tho...My Tomatoes are STILL GREEN...I need a little more warm weather please...
we usually get hit with a light frost around the time of the Fair in mid September (usually towards the end of that week) it's nice to get a small harvest to enter some stuff in the fair just before you get hit with the frost!

Heh, you'd think i'd realize after 12 years here that summer is SHORT. But every fall it's such trauma for me!! :barnie especially this year, with so many promising green tomatoes hanging out, and thanks to you guys reminding me, i actually got some secondcrops in, maybe on time?! I justdont want winter just yettttttttttttt. (whoops, whining again!)
No, I don't think that's whining, Heather. Looks more like teeth chattering :/.

I find this map encouraging for Heather's and my corner of the world and hope others are okay with it: 8 to 14 Day Outlooks, Weather Service

Haha! We need winter smilies, and roasting, toasting smilies, for everyone's respective weather updates! :happy_flower. Well, this one does kinda look like our sun in winter!

You know what the solution to that problem is? Grow green tomatoes then nobody is the wiser when you pick them. ;)

I know the feeling I've got 2 Green Zebra plants too and every trip out to the garden I give them a squeeze to see if they are ripe. Nope still too firm, so I keep telling myself eventually Ill get some because they are absolutely loaded with tomatoes. I've never had them before so no idea how they taste either. They look beautiful though.
