I used to grow bush beans in the past; but, it got to be too much back-breaking work to pick them. Plus, bush beans take up a lot of space in my suburban garden.

This year, I broke down and built a 60 ft. trellis, using that nylon trellis netting that I purchased through a seed catalog. to grow pole beans.

However, I ran into trouble when 'something' was eating the leaves of my pole beans as soon as they came up through the ground and developed leaves. I tried everything; and now after my 3rd REplanting of pole-bean seeds, whatever was doing this has stopped, and my pole beans are FINALLY growing although a lot of time was wasted -- nearly a month. I now have 34 pole-bean plants that are still small, but at least after the 3rd planting, they are not being eaten!
