Sounds good, Seedcorn, I'll have to try some with a little cayenne in it...sweet and spicy.

Leaving out the heavy cream is where you went a little wrong, Seedcorn :p.

Really, Journey's recipe is just about exactly what I do.

Now, the cream cheese . . . that could go in there, too! . . .along with the cayenne pepper.

Cream cheese is good in just about everything. Don't see how you could go wrong.

Cream cheese gives it a little more bite than cream would. Tomorrow having hamburgers so soup will go well with it. Wife asked what it tastes like--no way does she try anything unless someone tells her it is good.......really I can't describe it. How would you describe he taste?

Well, DW and I made pumpkin pies last night - out of buttercup squash.

Squash soup doesn't taste like pumpkin pie but the flavor is similar, of course. What do we say?

The chicken broth makes it "savory."

To me, resembled onion soup, broccoli soup, and taste the butternut.

My problem with soups is that I like for it to be the meal. This is more appetizer.

Pumpkin pie sounds great. I use butternut or sweet potatoes instead of pumpkin.

Squash pure is pretty much the way I eat it
