Cabbage ?

Thanks so lucky, my chickens love red tomatoes, not fond of green. They love cabbage too so I planted a lot as we also love cabbage. Our garden is fenced too more so because of the pig than the chickens.

They need good drainage and that helps, some. My 24 cabbages in the small bed around my cistern all look great...so far. I second the egg shells bc you already (probably) buy/collect from your hens, for eggs, so you might as well crush them and spread them right around the cabbage stems. They hurt to soft bottoms of the slugs, so the slugs avoid the plants.

Excellent idea. Next time I boil up some eggs I will remove the shells instead of feeding them back to the girls. For that matter any time I have egg shells. Such good advice on this forum. Thanks
