Oh my word Red, 2 weeks that's tough!!! You're right, its a different expectation of what you would put up with and deal with, versus tenants - but this is one of those situations they would have to deal with even if they owned their place. Good luck. :/

Sorry it's such a headache, but maybe this is what you needed to prompt those non-paying tenants to move out and find another landlord to abuse.

Sort'a solutions to this freezing problem.

I was able to rent two apartments for two weeks each with bathroom facilities for my tenants. Two of my tenant families are closely related and will share one of the apartments for bathing ant the other two families will share the second apartment on "time shares" for showering.

I realize it was not my responsibility to do this, all the other families on the block are also with out water, but on the other hand, it's not fair to charge rents and not provide some way of cleaning up. The apartment manager was so understanding and we worked out a good price for this part time rental.

I also made a good deal to provide five gallon jugs of water to each rental for washing dishes and cleaning up by being up front with my intentions. They will be delivered tomorrow. That's about all I can do other than pray for sunshine and warm weather to melt the frozen water lines. I feel so much better now after watching one happy family carry towels and lotions into their apartment. Their tub is packed full of snow to melt for toilet flushing.

Me too, Thistle. You are a much better landlord than I would ever be, Red.

Drought? What drought? Oh, you mean that condition where our wells are going dry, our pastures are dead, our feed bills are astronomical, and our huge beautiful oak trees are stressing and dying? That drought? This is not fun!
