I just built a chainlink fence around my yard. For privacy I was wondering if I could grow pinto beans on it? Would they be too heavy for the fence?

I'm pretty sure pintos are a bush bean Mike, so not much of a privacy screen from them. But you could certainly grow a pole bean variety on chain link.

There are some pole and some bush varieties of pinto out there, although I think that most are bush. Do you have the packet that your seeds came in?

A late welcome to TEG!

I haven't gotten any yet. I didn't know pintos were bush types.

How could I forget? @Bluejay77 did his free beans grow out last year and promises to do it again this year, in April. You select bean seeds, he sends you seed, you grow the beans, double the number of seeds and send them back to him. He is a bean collector and does not have the room to grow all his varieties, so we help him refresh his seeds. In return, we get a chance to have some awesome heritage bean varieties.

Beans ought to love growing on a chain link fence. I can hardly think of any annual that would be too heavy for a chain link fence.
