It is usually recommended that it be composted first. If you were to put some in and then till it in to the soil, it might work.
Just make sure none goes directly onto the plants.

I would save it in a compost pile, and let it break down.
Or say add it fresh to your garden in the fall and turn it into the soil about 4-6 weeks before you plant.
Those methods are good...
Fresh chicken poo is too hot and will burn the plants.

Chicken manure is even hotter and more risky. Birds urinate together in their poop mixture. Too much nitrogen for average gardening plants! It has so much soluble ammonia in it, it can burn up plants if not composted first. Also chicken poop is highly alkaline containing lots of calcium carbonate (lime) in it because that is what they feed the chickens to make them lay more eggs.

ive been using it for the last 3 years because its what my dad puts on his fields. It gets spread lightly and tilled in a few short weeks before I begin to plant. I dont have any problems. My soil also needs the boost because it was over grown for 20 years.
