Totally random question, but I was hoping with all the dog people we have on here, someone might know. My dog has had a bad flea infestation lately and I was totally unaware until it got bad because she wasn't scratching at them (arthritic hips and she had that tube collar on to keep her from licking her belly). I got the fleas under control and have a vet appt for Monday (WHY do these things always happen on the weekend? :barnie) I suspect she has flea anemia. She's lost some weight, her appetite hasn't been very good the past few days and last night I noticed she seemed a little weak and wobbly. I've used Poultry Nutri-drench before and know how helpful it can be. Unfortunately TSC didn't have the dog version. I was wondering if they are similar in formulation?

I don't know but with your dogs age and medical problems I would be very careful what I gave her. I would go with chicken broth with a little honey mixed in till you can speak to a vet.

Here in NY this has been a really bad year for fleas. They are a problem till the weather stays below 32 degrees, sometimes here that not till Christmas time

She's doing better, so I'll probably just return it. I think her blood sugars might have been low and made her weak. She did eat well last night.

We haven't had fleas on the dog for many years. Maybe this warm fall brought them on.

I might have noticed it sooner had I bathed her as often as I should...

At her age, I do hate to upset her though.

We have been having a terrible time with fleas this fall too. Good (strong) dip seems to have been removed from the market. We have used bombs in the house twice this fall - no success. We have used 3 different bottle sprays - no success. We finally resorted to the pills (hate them) with little success. A good, long deep freeze may help a bit but that may not come for a while. If anyone has a proven remedy I'm all ears (I mean all eyes).
