I am staying in a rented cottage in Ireland at the moment and found this beautiful tree in the garden. I would love to know what it's called, if anyone can help, please?
That looks more like it than what I found, called a strawberry tree. The blooms on it are described as pink, but look white to me.
Its is called arbutus unedo.
Since the flowers look something like Euonymus berries, I tried to find photos of Euonymus flowers. Everywhere it said they were "inconspicuous." Well, I guess so since nobody bothers to take their picture ...
Anyway, Wikipedia says your tree is from southern Chile, Sumi. If it grows there, seems likely that it would grow here .
