Can these grow in containers or must be planted?

I need to stop buying bulbs, they hate me!!
Most failed, so, new hosta went in their place. Plus in some spots of previous hosta, moved too many times, so a few failed.

These are the bulbs DH got, they should look like this, if they grow. But just this year, as they're not hardy here.

Added a bit more compost to the daffodils. Been deep watering them, alive, but annoyed about the move.

Iris. I forgot how many there were, but 3 died. Rest, put them too deep. Dug it all up and replanted near the surface. 🤞

Hedge suffered greatly from the sudden freeze. Really should of covered it like i did the strawberries...
The transplanted lily(?) Are recovering nicely and growing. Been deep watering them and it's helping.

Mixed plants from last year, transplanted together, doing well.

Double Phlox and Lilium Oohs and Aahs in these rounds.
Two thirds reused red clay/dirt dug up from driveway work then finished off with the hard dirt/compost mix. I don't believe it's got any compost in it...
Anyway, thought I only had 2 scoops left, but it looks like there's at least yet another two left! Which is good, since the 4 long, short beds will need it eventually.
