If they are healthy, @so lucky, you can just dig up the runners -- or any of the plants -- and replant them in a new strawberry bed. That's what I did to a bed that became overrun with grasses.
Favorite fruit grown at home? I love most all fruit so that is a tough question. Certainly I can grow strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, and currants. Those are favorites. I have three sweet cherry trees reaching 20 feet so I can grow them. I seldom get any of the fruit due to the neighborhood birds and those dratted migrants, the cedar waxwings, but the few times I've covered branches, the cherries have been delightful.
Apples, pears, and plums do far better than the apricots, nectarines, or peaches that I've tried unsuccessfully. I did get some Saturn peaches for a couple of years before the tree died. Yum! I am afraid my persimmon tree has grown up from below the graft and I'm going to have to remove it. They are now in the stores and I'm on my fourth ripe one this year.
Muskmelons usually do very well. I can go by the scent and the stem falling away to get them at the peak of ripeness. Watermelons probably would do better if I knew when to harvest them. I'm usually too early and disappointed.
I suppose the answer to Nyboy's question is I don't have a favorite fruit. I love 'em all so, while I can grow quite a few, there are plenty of delicious fruits I would love to grow, but can't.
Still working on finding Cloud Berries to grow here. Sigh!
