Can you see this bolder?

This rock came down the mountain side, rolled across three lanes and stopped blocking the uphill slow lane of HWY 50.
This was taken at night in the rain.

Holy Moley! That is one big boulder! I wonder if they are going to remove it by pushing it on over the side.

Maybe they'll crack it into smaller pieces with charges so it can be trucked off.
You wouldn't want something like that going off out of control downslope.

God rolled that boulder there for a reason. I say, leave it.

No one was hurt, they dynamited it bit by bit to move it.

Too bad. It would have looked great with boots, gloves and a hat sticking out at the appropriate spots and the reminder to "drive safely". Still, I guess they wouldn't want it covering a traffic lane.

A century plus has been spent in this country blowing things like that to smithereens!

I've been curious what has been "removed" from the nearby river and banks, way back when. Curious how it altered the flow and landscape.

I can share a picture of a rock. One I found and can hold in my hand. You may be surprised how I can draw parallels with blowing up rocks, prehistory, and that little rock .
