I just moved to a new home a few months ago and found this coming up in a few spots in the garden...I love it but have no idea what it is! Any help would be great thank you!
It has pink AND purple flowers on it. And is obviously a perrenial. When the foliage first started coming up it reminded me of hosta, but now I'm not sure what it is
That is a perennial called Lungwort or Pulmonaria. I believe the variety is "Raspberry Splash". I love how the flowers change colors as they age, much like the blue bells I have.
The old idea of the Doctrine of Signatures which stated that God left clues on plants to tell us what they are useful for has been pretty much discredited. It was called lungwort because the marking suggested a spotted lung to early physicians. BTW it seems to be of no real use in lung problems. It is a very pretty plant though.
