Cannabis plant issue

My son brought two gorgeous cannabis plants over from his place and they withered within a week. I cannot figure out what happened! He had them in a window, not a grow light - same here. He watered when needed - same here. He is very upset of course because he put so much time and energy into them. He planted them from seeds and these were the only two to do well, from about seven different ones?
Here are the facts: he brings over two very healthy plants and puts them by the glass patio door. They did get a bit dry, but we watered right away with no luck. The leaves all drooped and haven't come back at all. They are even more dry now than they were 3 days ago. We've moved them away from the heating vent also.
Any suggestions at all are appreciated! Thank you!

Cannot advise ... however, in AU people are still being raded for the weed!?

It became legal in our state a little while ago, but the amount of plants allowed is quite small. Thankfully!

On a funny note, I brought in my house plants, including a large philodendron after the weather started to turn. Sadly, that one got frost bit pretty bad so I cut off the leaves leaving the stems, just in case. In the meantime, my cat has been climbing all over plant and I just noticed it is starting to recover. Maybe the cat needs to harass the other two plants?

it could be a combination of things going on and unfortunately it would be hard to know for sure.

they are not long lived plants normally and will die at the end of the growing season.

if during transport the temperature changed too much they may have gotten the signal that the season was over and just did what they would normally do at the end of the season.

you speak of a heat vent, yes that too could send yet another signal as to a changing climate for them and they could not handle the changes.

if any part of the plant is still alive you might be able to take a cutting and get that rooted but it is probably easier to just start over from seed.
