I did make those muffins, they were delicious!

We ate the "more carrots" and these are what are left:

Honestly, I figure that it was just about one-half the carrots we got thru . . . Better to have too many than too few, right?

I'm afraid that they won't last too much longer. They had already grown maybe an inch of leaves. Those were broken off and they got a scrubbing. DW said some of them should go to the neighbors but I'm sure they'd be looked at with suspicion as they are passed over the fence ;).

We've kept celeriac into summer but we'll just have to see how these do . . . or, some of them.

Your carrots are amazing, Steve. It must feel really good to keep yourself in carrots like that and not have to resort to buying them at the store. :thumbsup

Ah, but we buy lots of broccoli at the store thru the winter, Skeeter. And, apples/bananas/oranges too . . .

We even bought some onions and potatoes :he!

Luckily, the bok choy from the tunnel is in good supply for the last 3 weeks.

Pasta and rice are staples. And, a trip to Wood's Meat every fall. Oh, and the backyard hens. But with all the peelings, we can really generate the compost :p.

You are way ahead of us. I think we grew a total of only 50 carrots this spring. Our fall planting failed, so nothing to pick or store. We'll try again earlier in the fall this time around.

We won't have enough carrots from these 50 to store... between summer bbq's and my daughter's LOVE for snacking on carrots... I'll be lucky to have enough carrots to last beyond memorial day! :/

I am still learning what we need the most of, what we need the least of... and what and when things are storeable.

We still have a learning curve we're yet to get down.

Not to mention... an extra fridge would be GREAT!

(So far, we're good on onions, but I'm not too thrilled with how our garlic is looking... most of it didn't grow a bulb?!)

We really enjoyed our pressure canned, carrots this year. Still have a few jars left. My seeds are just barely sprouting...so awhile to wait for fresh.

Well, V, you are a spectacularly good cook if that muffin recipe is any indication!

I bought the fridge used for $35. Notice it has a tiny freezer and lots of room.

The fridge had a problem but the guy who sold it to me didn't tell me about it. It wouldn't shut off!!!!! He was probably delighted to get the $35!

So, I'm poking around in there trying to figure out what the heck is wrong with the thermostat. The light's on. I poke the switch in the door. The light doesn't go out!!!

The light didn't go out!! The stupid switch is broken and the hot little lightbulb is about 3 inches from the thermostat! The guy is not only a jerk --- he's an idiot!

The carport fridge now has no light bulb. The thermostat works fine!

Well, Steve, that's what happens when people are dishonest! Glad you got a good deal on the fridge. An extra one sure comes in handy!

You guys are way ahead of me with the carrot thing. This is my first year growing them since I was a kid, so we'll see how it goes. I will be amazed if I get any that actually look like carrots.

Well... just my 2 cents, but I would just remove the bulb and be done with it?! :hu
