I painted them. We have red trim and accents of that shade here on the house, porch and my coop is red. I love the red against the wood tones.

When you are scrapping things together out of all different kinds of materials, I've found it often helps to add paint. Paint covers a multitude of sins. :D

Oh, but, Red...you forget that I have my own predators sleeping next to that door. ;) If I didn't have the dogs here, my whole coop and range setup would invite every predator in miles to clean me out of birds. Since I have them, I don't have to worry about Ft. Knox coops and runs and can just build to keep in a chicken, not keep out a predator.

Does this look like a face that would let a predator get my chickens? :D

I have always planned to freeze some eggs for the few weeks where I am forced to BUY EGGS. I finally bought the egg trays that are square and flexible and froze 2 eggs per cube. The look great but, of course, the proof will be when I try them. I am sure they will be fine for baking and OK for scrambling. I will transfer them to a plastic bag and put in the big storage freezer.

Not a bad idea, Catjac1975. I just sold my first two dozen eggs. I am overrun with eggs. I figure that if I can find someone to buy 10 dozen eggs a week I should be able to keep up with my birds.

Bobm, I have just officially gotten into the Form F area. Now that the birds are bringing in an income, the outlay is deductible.

Bee, I did forget. My Cee Cee sleeps inside at night so I didn't take into consideration having a dog on guard.

I've never had an animal try to get into my screen windows or screen door, but then I don't cackle all the much.
