@Beekissed , I like the photo of the chickens out in the snow! White snow, white dog, white chickens, and then a few melted dark patches, with the dark dog, and a couple dark chickens.

I also had a treacherous trip to the coop this morning @Smart Red . This afternoon though, it was mud. Very strange winter.

I agree...VERY strange winter. Our yard is mud right now too, so treacherous walking all around. I fell on the ice the other day and the dogs rushed to my aid...NOT. They rushed to start licking my face while I was helplessly flailing around to get on my feet. Nice...big help, guys.

Bee, that made me laugh! Last winter, I got plowed by Trip, and knocked flat. The dogs thought Mommy wanted to play with them!! I got licked, slobbered on, mobbed, and couldn't get up because of 3 dogs on me! When I finally got up, I had a mouth full of sand, covered in sand, dog paw prints and slobber. I spit sand, laughed, spit sand, laughed........rinse, repeat. I can soooo relate to you trying to get up while the dogs cover your face in love kisses! pictures taken by DH who was NO help at all.........

:D Yes!! I'd have taken the vid or pics too, instead of helping the fair lady. Just too funny to miss! :gig

Today I was tweaking the spare pen, aka the breeding pen, temporary dog house, hay storage, temporary cellar, leaf storage. Ben was most helpfully getting under my feet with each trip of carrying out hay and bags of stored leaves. The word "MOVE!!" echoed the land, then I just started walking through him. I'd had enough.

Funnily enough, that seemed to be the right move on my part, as I well knew, but needed reminding of....just walking through the animals always gets me good results and less incidence of tripping over them.

Yes, there comes a time when just walking through them seems to remind the animals who is boss. Cee Cee will sleep in the pathway -- a tripping hazard especially for DH -- until I just walk into her. Then she remembers she has a bed that is safe from stepping feet for a while.

My older dog knows what MOVE means, as he's been walked through before. This young dog has yet to understand that MOVE turns into me walking through him if he doesn't comply. Yesterday he started getting that picture and got his big ol' head thunked a couple of times by my knees and boots as I walked through the wall of dog.

He moved. :D Today I'll be working on that same pen and I'll see if the pup has connected the word MOVE with the head thunkings he got yesterday. :gig
