I lost another 2 so I switched to medicated feed and then the rest died.
I'm not sure what the problem was, but I'll be scrubbing out the incubator and brooder before the next batch hatches in a few weeks and hope for the best.
They were from my own flock. I just got done cleaning out the incubator and brooder, which is good, because hubby just surprised me with 4 EE eggs and 6 New Hampshire eggs to hatch (along with 24 Peking ducklings and 5 Marans chicks.)
When I asked if they were from your own flock (which I did edit out after I realized that they were), I was thinking in terms of the heat in your area this time of year and stress on the flock prior to hatching.
I always gave water soluble vitamins to my hens for two weeks or so prior to hatching "just in case".
You may never know why you had the loss? But sometimes, it's something as simple as the girls were stressed or the incubator ran a little too high for a stretch.
I so hope that you have a Successful Hatch next time around
