Old carpet is good too, I'm not as limber as I used to be and when we took out some industrial wear carpet before tiling the floors I kept a few pieces, a nice neutral grey. I have a lot of gravel paths and weeding them has gotten to be a real PITA so this time of year I put down pieces of carpet over some of the worst weedy paths for a couple of weeks, lift the carpet on a hot sunny day and the sun does the weeds in. In the winter I put the carpet down on the the worst weedy paths and leave them on all winter. A couple of my paths I've just put down roofing tiles in a neutral color, these are there permanently, don't look bad either and they are none slip. Sometimes you can luck out and pick up broken bundles for a song if not free. Carpet has been used for ages on paths in cottage gardens, waste not want not. As you can tell by now my garden isn't what you'd call a showplace, I just grow plants :).

Your garden is a showcase.

Haha Nyboy! Picking dandelions on the side of the road! It is so much easier to just grow your own! Take a sharp shooter shovel with you, dig up a few and plant them. In no time, you can harvest dandelions in the comfort of your own yard!

Hey! You got any pictures of yourself as a young hot model or did they just take pictures of your eyes?

My uncle made a recording on vinyl of me at age 3 reciting "Jaybird, jaybird thitting on a limb ..." I think my couthin has thrown it out by now.

I was determined in late elementary school to unlearn the lithp. However, it is being replaced by deaf mispronouncing now.

NyBoy, will you be comfortable using your scanner? Light from 2 sources and attention to glare can do an okay camera job for a picture of a picture.

Here is a question about physical insults.

Are boys getting together these days and throwing punches at each other, just for fun? I don't mean wrestling around on the lawn or in boxing classes.

I don't mean fighting in anger, although it may, no doubt, descend to that. I mean bare knuckles and for fun. Beyond reckless.

(Odd question for a gardening forum but I was prompted to read something about "growing up fat" after reading what NyBoy wrote and found it sad and disturbing.)
