Christmas card letters

My mom would have never let you 2 get away without sending thank you's..... she would have shamed you into it. I write one letter to one family.

I've learned people appreciate hearing "thank yous".

I'm not proud of it, that's for sure. Mom nagged me for awhile, then gave up I suppose.

I try to do better now, and thank people by phone or email. I appreciate it when people thank me too, so I keep that in mind.

I don't know why I never sent them. It could have been because all the tags fell off the gifts and I didn't know who gave me what. I only knew what my mom and grandmother gave me.

A client once gave me a very nice bottle of wine. I thanked her when she handed it to me. I guess I was suppose to send a thank you card because the next time she come in she gave me a box of Thank You cards. People here go to photography studios, have family photo taken then have photo made into xmas cards. I always wonder what it cost as I toss card in trash.

I love Christmas cards. I get them every year, and send too. Sometimes I take them to read again. Very beautiful cards sold today. I like to watch and choose. I've already sent a few. This makes the holiday spirit! So if someone wants to get a card - write, I will send!

Ahhhh Larisa a girl after my own heart. I send so many cards at Christmas (all year, for any occasion too) I should be given some kind of reward from the USPS ! Dad was a mail carrier. Mom was big on getting us to send thank you notes, etc... it stuck.

I think you would be surprised how many words I wrote here on this thread and then deleted. I'm glad that some enjoy receiving cards. Reciprocating isn't necessary because one should want to send cards or write letters. Too much of a sense of obligation doesn't fit with the spirit of the season.

NBC asked people a few years ago about the worst letters they have received and that was an eye opener for what not to write about! My intention isn't to brag on the kids and it's not to share miseries . I did kinda get into a to-do list on my note to the architect. I imagine that he kinda expects me to do that ... after knowing me for so long.

I started the letters explaining my Charlie Brown front window and door wreath. I was inspired by @Nyboy to do a little something. I come up with another little idea, about every 24 hours . We are still 9 days before Christmas!

The picture I used in the heading was a snow-covered park bench under a street light. More snow is falling around it. I think it was something like @Beekissed showed us, last winter.

Each letter was personalized with, at least, a few sentences. If I mixed any up in the envelopes, I'm in trouble. But ... I know I have this thought every year! No one has said anything, yet. Maybe the letters are all tossed and no one looks at them.

I included this poem:

And, there was a simple picture beside my "Steve" that looks like a small stained glass window showing big, colorful peppers!
