I am sorry for anyone waiting, I have been busy, and also forgot about this topic. I was able to get photos, but I never got around to uploading them. But I am now sure it is winter creeper, Euonymus fortunei. http://www.cas.vanderbilt.edu/bioimages/species/eufo5.htm, these pics look just like what my Mom has growing, especially the pic of the bark.
