We grew a squash variety called Trombetta di Albegna, Trombocino or 'Rampicante-Tromboncino' last year and it gets enormous and needs extensive trellising. It's actually a winter squash but when harvested green <18" can be used as in the same way as a zuchinni. All the seeds are in a little knob at the end of the fruit so that for the most part it's seed free and denser than a summer squash.

At the Cornell University Vegetable database there are a number of reviews, some from people in Arizona:

I have seeds for 2 versions of Tromboncini squash. One version starts green and ripens orangish beige, the other starts greenish beige and turns the same beige as a butternut.

Moschata, like a long Butternut.

Hi, How did you like the squash? The version we grew was green turning beige when mature. We bought the seed off a Renee's rack at our local garden store.

I used them as winter squash. That version was like a mild smooth textured Butternut squash. I had originally gotten my seeds for that from Pinetree seeds.
