Haha, nice picture!
I'm about to get my money hog's teeth floated, too!
Have to drive out to the vet to setup appointments though, they are a huge pain to deal with over the phone or email..

Floating teeth? Isn't that what the water trough is for? Forgive this (born in a) city girl's ignorance, but what is floating a horse's teeth?
Floating teeth is when a horse's molar teeth grow sharp edges through uneven ( favoring one side of the mouth vs. the other) chewing of grass and grains which may have sand/ soil on them causing wear on the tooth surface creating sharp edges. The sharp edges on the teeth cause injuries to the tongue and/ or cheeks which are painfull. So we use a metal device with leather straps that keeps the horse's mouth open ( some horses may object to this insertion at first, then calm down quickly ) , then use a steel file with a long handle to file down the sharp edges. This proceedure is not painful and has been done for centuries. I have my Dad's ( was a Vet. ) set stored in a box. :old

3rd lesson went well, owner was the teacher this time as my regular teacher was sick. He explains things differently and it made a bit more sense. He wasn't worried about heels down. He explained posting and moving with the belly button moving up like on a string and such, I can't explain it, hopefully some of you guys get what I'm saying.
On the same mare, I think her name is Star...I'm bad with names...We walked around, then lunge line to practice the post and then some sitting trot. This time it didn't feel like the horse was going too fast and we did some of the sitting trot with him telling me how to move pelvis without hollowing lower back, crazy hard/confusing, another thing I have to practice. But anyway, on the line, posted for half a circle, then sat the trot for the other half of circle and repeat. Eventually, I seemed to get it. Then went off to trot on my own, but the horse decided that going around the teacher was better than around the ring, lol. He said I was doing great and unexpected of beginners, good balance and that I seemed to respond/move with the horse's movements naturally, whether unconsciously or not. Can't say if he was just saying it or not, but either way, that was nice to hear. Told him maybe it's because I've been riding my gelding bareback. I've always read that bareback riding is great for balance. Guess it did help.

Came home and rode my gelding bareback. He was more willing to go where I asked. Link to the far off and boring video.
