God bless whoever invented the time delay coffee maker!!
So tired last night, but I prepped coffee with the timer. DH has early court, so the coffee was ready when we got up, timer on 5:45AM.
@baymule, I have heard of turmeric reducing inflammation.
MY PT will be at the gym tonight. DD's and I usually go on Tuesdays and Thursdays, but we have a family movie night tomorrow night and THEY are seeing a movie Thursday night, I have a town board meeting Wednesday--
this week is gonna fly!
Glad I have a good stash of COFFEE. Black only, please.

There will be lots of tea, coffee and other hot drinks had today m. The high and the low today are both supposed to record breakingly low. High of 53 and a low of 28. Guess who’s heating system died overnight? :he

No idea when we’ll be able to get a repair man out and how much it will cost. There’s a very good chance the whole thing will need to be replaced. Which would take a few days at least.

Our house has almost zero insulation so the temp is almost down to 60 inside and dropping.

It was 76°f (24°C) yesterday afternoon, 35°f (2C) outdoors now and 61 (16C) indoors.

No. We didn't open windows yesterday because of the wildfire smoke but it it takes more than a few hours for 76 degree air to warm up walls and furniture. The basement is always cool, altho the furnace and water heater can warm it up.

I'm reluctant to turn the furnace on. A week or so ago, I crawled around on the floor and vacuumed a lot of dust out of the vents that settles there through the Warm Season. You know ... when nights are 8 hours and it ain't 35 degrees by morning! New furnace filter and the vacuuming job or not -- I'd like for us to be outdoors during the first run. Dyson contraption can only do so much filtering.

Dang. I was planning on distant garden clean-up during this week and then this wildfire smoke. Well, I've washed the Summer bed spread, replaced a week ago by the Winter Comforter. Second breakfast is coming up soon ~ zucchini bread ~ ! I'd better carry that thing out to the clothes line.

Hey, there is one good thing about ambient atmospheric smoke, that idiot neighbor isn't running his smoker at all these days after having lived in this neck of the woods now for 3 years.

i sure do understand. it's like there's always something going on to work around.

today i ran into town to get more stain and on the way back the tire light came on so i pulled over to make sure it was just the light and sensors being finicky and not actually a flat.

since i was heading back through town by the mechanic i stopped in and had him check the tires and take care of a few things that were unknowns to me but he got them taken care of within a few minutes and amazingly no charge. it was nice of him for sure and also i got a chance to meet his wife who is there helping him out now. so far Mom has been doing most of the appointments with the mechanic because she runs around a lot more and she's also a lot more social person than i am so on the way out after the mechanic said it was no charge i made sure to go back in and talk to his wife some more and to tell her how glad i was how things had worked out. i'd not had a chance to meet her before and she is a nice person so that was great for me to do (forcing myself to be a bit more social than i'd normally be).

we chatted for a bit and she told me that she thinks Mom is awesome (she is :) ) and exchanged a few stories about cars and deer and insurance and all that. :) i told her i was a hermit and generally didn't get out much and that i like to be in the gardens and at home but i also put in a plug for the gardening at the library group.

we bring them cookies and goodies once in a while. :)

DH and I Used to wait until the bitter end to turn on the heat, but his feet get cold, and he puts a heated blanket on top of the blankets and on top of his lower legs now, so we turned on the heat last week, mostly to check it, and left it on. We converted from fuel oil to natural gas 12 years ago, or so, so it's not as expensive. Considering the cost of fuel I keep trying to figure out what I could fill those 2 tanks with to use for something else. :hu

Luckily it’s been sunny today so despite the cold it’s still a reasonable temp in the house still.

Unluckily we’ve had no luck finding a repairman that can come out the same day. Also we can’t find the space heaters we’ve been putting off pulling out of storage. I think might have a heated blanket somewhere but it’s looking like it’s going to be a cold night here.
