I was just reading about wildlife and bird flu, @baymule. So strange how it crosses species lines.

An article or so in, I am reading beyond the fatalities and about mild symptoms in mammals. Conjunctivitis. Allergies, yes. Bacteria, yes. But, up to 90% of conjunctivitis cases are virus related. And, other health problems may accompany the eye symptoms. You may have caught the crud from Reina.

Don’t think so. Hers was an infection from an eye injury. Vet didn’t think a direct eye injury, but more like she banged the whole eye area on something. She could only call it trauma to the eye.
I don’t think I was truly over the first round of crud. My lifestyle is conducive to casting caution aside and trudging out in inclement weather to care for the animals.

My knee is fantastic. No pain. Went to Disney World with daughter and family. We walked over 7 miles a day, stood in lines and my knee never had even the first twinge of pain.

I'm so happy to know this ☺ . Good for you lovely lady for beating all the odds

I have the snow shovels on the deck ready to go also, @Marie2020 . But today, it's raining and, once again, very dark at 7am. Maybe I should use a shovel to break up the pile of snow beside the driveway ... it's been there fore.evah! I'm sure the lawngrass would appreciate it.

Oatmeal and raisins with a big spoonful of cream cheese for a 2nd breakfast. Watching Japanese candy makers on teevee and imagining chocolate chips in the bowl ... no, no!

Darn, I forgot too add oats to my crumble, I love that

Rhubarb??? No sign of it yet. We had better start sourcing some strawberres for pie!

I lost my life long (2nd grade) best friend this past April, very sudden. Her Mom is still alive at 93, but time is limited and she fades in and out. I've tried speaking with her but it's not a satisfactory conversation for all involved. Not having my friend to talk to, especially since losing my other best friend, my sister, back in 2014, it's quite an adjustment.

I'm really sorry for the people you have lost, it's really a hard blow. I hope you find comfort in all those memories you have shared ❤

It kind of gets easier over time, sort of. There are moments and I'm sure you will experience them. Hopefully contact with your friend's daughter will help ease those moments, as well as comfort her also.

I had my second cup of coffee. I have been trying to keep the house warm. It was 11 degrees a few minutes ago, but the sun is out. DD and kids are coming over and we are going to mess around shopping at thrift stores and see what we can find. I have been housecleaning and deciding how to change things up and do some decorating. I am also sewing for my Etsy shop and deciding what to sew for the kids next. My friend in Kansas died. Very strange not to talk to her about things each day. Talking to one of her daughters more than I used to and she has such a mess to figure out with the property and bills and they will have to get a lawyer to help with it all. Her 5 children are going to be shocked what it is like without the one who had their backs all these years. She has a daughter and son who needed her often to get them out of messes.

I've lost a heck of a lot of friends these past few years. It's funny how I remember their good advice and still carry their wise words in my mind.

I'm sorry for your loss and hope you can get the chance to speak with their family to share all those good times you had.

I am going to see if I can find some potting soil and start getting things ready to start seeds next month. DD wants to do some of the winter sowing in milk jugs and I might be a couple of things out in the yard and see what happens. I have decided my garden is going to be very small this year.
