Drinking black tea with lots of cream this morning, and trying to wake up in preparation for the drive to town to drop off my unhappy dog at the vet's for a dental cleaning, completing the cruel and unusual punishment that began when I had to withhold her breakfast. First starvation, then abandoning her to the care of strangers, her day will be going from bad to worse. For me, the day began horribly when alarm clocks went off at the crack of dawn (I am so NOT a morning person) and has not improved with having to listen to the barks of hunger (she's not one to suffer in silence). Tea (wonderful nectar of the gods) is the only bright spot this morning.

@SPedigrees If you're dog has been going to that same vet all her life then they're NOT strangers. All mine get very excited when we have to take them to our vet office seeing how everyone that works there spoils them rotten. YES, THEY GET SPOILED AT HOME too!!!! But it's a different spoil with the vet workers.

Everyone in the world, except myself, is a stranger to my dogs. The clinic has a fairly rapid turnover of both vets and techs, but it doesn't matter because those few who've been there for years are just as much strangers in my sheltie's mind, not just strangers but strangers with ill intent, poking her with sharp objects when even just touching her is enough to give the willies. She won't take treats from them. She adored my late husband, but he's gone now, and my sister who visits a couple times a year has gained peripheral acceptance, but still is outside the inner circle.

If a delivery person or other individual comes to our front door, Mabel barks a terror alert and won't go near the door. My little chihuahua, Cocoa, is a recent adoptee, and was initially noncommittal about unknown humans, but after a couple years here she has decided that this is her home and it's her job to chase off intruders. Basically Cocoa actively dislikes strangers, while Mabel is petrified of them.

I'm a recluse out here in the sticks, living with two anti-social dogs. There are worse lifestyles... (I've had friendly, outgoing dogs in the past, but these aren't them.)

Well I really don't like the taste of the coffee I've been drinking but it does camofloge the taste of the unflavored collagen.

I've decided that I like coffee with chocolate and nuts overtones. Now to find one with those overtones will be a challegen. There are so many coffee companies out there. We have Peet's in the East bay and they had one but I didn't like it. I really don't want to go to the coffee shop each day to try a different one. Heck that can get expensive! But maybe I'll go in and talk to someone but they are always so busy. Oh well, I guess I'll have to stick with google.

Any one of you know what I can try that's nutty and chocolatey?

Mary
This isn't nutty, but one of my favorite drinks at a coffee house that my friends and I used to frequent, was mocha coffee. I'll still make a cup of it here at home once in awhile for old time's sake. It is basically half coffee and half hot chocolate (made with milk or cream) with a cinnamon stick in the cup to stir with.

On edit: I almost forgot the whipped cream on top!

Do you know how much work that would be every morning when all I want is my cup of coffee quick? lol
