My sweet hubby cleaned the whole house on Friday. He was off work and decided to clean and have everything ready for sabbath. I haven't been this relaxed in months.

Mom's been cooking a lot and i've been doing a lot of dishes, i also finally cleaned the kitchen window since i'm done with staining outside and the corn is harvested so there won't be as much dusting blowing but also since we're done with most of the cooking we'll be doing for a while. we joked about getting some plexiglass to put up over the window when we're cooking to keep the splashes off the window and window sill. it's really not a bad idea except i'd be tempted to just leave it up all the time...

Now I've been trying to read up on how long you soak them and it's all so very confusing 😕

Some say soak in cold water for 12 hours others say drop into hot water and leave for 12 hours then it's boil for 45 minutes and leave overnight then boil for whatever and strain then cook :thI'm shattered because I really don't know and I've been staring at this packet of tapioca for days

i read the directions on the package and they say to boil them until they are clear (see through) and then drain them. how you use them after that is up to the recipe so what do you want to make with them?

since i'm not used to using such large tapioca chunks or that type i really am not sure, as to me with the smaller ones i make i use eggs but the recipe i just looked at doesn't have any eggs in it so it is up to you to what you can do with them.

personally, what do you like for tapioca pudding? with or without eggs? with or without vanilla? with or without spices? it seems there are plenty of recipes out there on youtube so you can look through them and see what meets your likes.

i guess one way to go would be to make your favorite plain vanilla pudding recipe and then when it is done stir in the vanilla and cooked tapioca pearls.

I’m looking in the bottom of my cup, to see if there is any encouragement to suit up in insulated Carhart overalls, sweat hoodie, Carhart coat, rubber boots, to go outside to do morning chores. Strangely enough, there are no magis words printed on the bottom of the cup! Oh well, guess I’d better get up and get moving.

Those look like the type used for bubble tea. Not sure what else they are good for as I’ve never used that type.

We are expecting a warmup next week. I have used plexiglass on a couple of original windows of my 100+ house. It will still be warm enough to use caulking to hold that can be removed in the spring. I would do this. :D

if no tea but you have dill give it a try as a tea. i tried it yesterday and it was good to me. of course you have to like dill for that to make sense... :)

that was yesterday's experiment in trying something new. today's is having some roasted peanuts on squash (which is spiced like pumpkin pie filling but they would also probably be good on plain squash). which leads me to think that peanut butter is probably a universal food for me. it goes well with just about anything i've tried.

Oatmeal with strawberries and a cup of green tea for breakfast. Still no central heating. The space heaters are doing a good job though. It was 26F when I woke up at 5am. It’s above freezing now but not by much. They are saying it will hit the low 20s by next weekend.
I’ve lived at times with no central heat. Space heaters, propane, are nice. The room may be chilly, but the heater is hot and nice to back up to. LOL A couple of times I only had a wood burning heater. I have luxury with central air and heat. There is a place in the kitchen for a propane heater, I’m looking for a used one. Power goes off in storms. I’d rather not be cold and miserable.

What kind of space heaters do you have? If barely above freezing, that’s not very good.
