Serious reactions are very rare, but the occasional person or animal has an immune system that can react badly to one or another vaccine. (On the other hand, if a bad reaction to a pneumonia vaccine, how would you react to the disease?)
I got through that, but my chest and breathing never was the same

I had quite a few pneumonia jabs, infact too many this was years later.
One of my GPS stopped them altogether. But I continued with the yearly flu vaccines and as I already said, I was firmly advised not to keep having them.

Being obstinate I went against that advice but then realised I was making a really bad decision because I kept getting bronchitis that took months to ease off. Hence I don't participate with them anymore.

I used to get bronchitis constantly in winters. The past few years I have stayed away from smokers, neighbors burning debris, block windows and doors stay inside. And even cleaning supplies and staying away from others who are sick, touching items ie:shopping, keeping away from triggers that cause allergies to act up causing congestion.

A humidifier kelps , Tylenol and ibuprofen calms swelling.

In many cases my bronchitis then develops an infection in the pleura of my lung tissue causing every breath to be extremely painful as ribs contract and expand . Then it’s a rush to get antibiotics. I cannot even move let alone breath.

Since I have followed the precautions above I have not had the pleurisy infection or bronchitis in years. I learned most of the time especially winters its better to be stand offish around other people. Ya never know who has what out in public. In winter I still wear masks shopping. The cold air always has a higher content of different viruses.

Why cold air spreads different viruses .

Microwaved apple and dried cranberries in the bowl with the Wheat Chex.

Mandarin orange and oolong. I had 2 1/2 cups of coffee yesterday AM. Had 2 runs on early errands and  barked a knuckle against a brick planter pulling a stake out. Hey, I was trying to be careful! Well, if life teaches you a lesson, seems like you deserve a little prize :).

@Marie2020 I totally get the intrusiveness that different web sites can become.
I’ll remember that next time.

Here’s a copy of the bullet points .
  • Fall and winter are associated with a higher incidence of upper respiratory infections, such as the common cold and flu, due to the increased transmission of respiratory viruses.
  • Although cooler temperatures and low humidity are associated with increased susceptibility to respiratory viruses, the biological mechanisms underlying this relationship are not understood.
  • A recent study showed that cold temperatures lead to a decline in the immune response elicited by cells in the nasal cavity to viruses, which explains why people are more susceptible to upper respiratory infections in colder temperatures.

Microwaved apple with raisins and an apple fritter from the bakery.

Redundant, I know but the first breakfast was banana pancakes and a persimmon. It's persimmon season, @ninnymary !

The most trick-or-treaters in 4 years. Now, my coffee is ready.

i actually had a real cake donut yesterday and it was still crispy and delicious. :) i told Mom as she was going to the store that i only wanted one donut and she said it was the last one they had. i'm impressed by how well our local grocery store bakery does with their donuts, while i don't much like the raised ones that much i will eat them from time to time but the cake donuts are always my favorites.

we don't have trick-or-treaters here out in the sticks with nobody else around us. i'm ok with that, i probably avoid eating a few extra lbs a year of candy this way...

Yes it is! On our way back from our cabin last week I stopped and bought 25 for $10 which was a descent price. So I've been eating them every day and just love them.

I got a message yesterday from a woman here who gave me some last year asking me if I wanted some. You bet I do and these are the Haychia ones that I've been looking for. My son and I dried some a couple years ago using the Japanese method but when they started getting moldy so I threw them out. Found out it's the sugar crystalizing aye aye aye. So will be trying it again this year.

By the way yesterday I had 2 chicken sausages, banana pancakes, cottage cheese and persimmon along with my ginger tea with collagen. So similar breakfast to yours!

Mary
